Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is collected when you use printablegraphpaper.app (the “Site”), how cookies and consent work, and which third-party services are involved. The graph-paper tool itself runs entirely in your browser — we never receive your settings or the files you generate.
The Short Version
- No account, no uploads. All graph paper is generated locally in your browser; nothing you create is sent to us.
- Analytics & ad cookies are off by default. They load only if you choose “Accept” on the cookie banner.
- We don’t sell your data and we don’t collect names, emails, or accounts.
- We use Google Analytics (usage stats) and Google AdSense (ads) to keep the tool free.
1Who We Are & Scope
printablegraphpaper.app is a free, single-page web tool that generates customizable, printable graph paper as PDF files. This policy applies to this website only. It does not cover any external sites we link to, which have their own privacy policies.
2The Tool Itself
The core function is fully client-side:
- You pick a grid type, spacing, colors, paper size, and orientation.
- The preview is drawn in your browser using the Canvas API.
- The PDF is built in your browser using the jsPDF library and saved directly to your device.
Your settings and generated files are never transmitted to or stored on any server we control. No login or personal information is required to use the tool.
3Information We Collect
We do not ask for or directly collect personal information such as your name or email. The limited data involved comes from the services that run the Site:
Usage analytics (consent-based)
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 records aggregated usage such as pages viewed, referring website, approximate location (country/region level), device and browser type, and in-tool interactions (for example, which grid type you choose or when you download a PDF). This helps us understand which features are useful. It is not used to identify you personally.
Advertising (consent-based)
If you accept advertising cookies, Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and (where permitted) to personalize them.
Server logs
Our host, Vercel, and the content delivery networks that serve code libraries automatically process standard request data (such as IP address, requested URL, and timestamp) to deliver the Site and protect against abuse. This is a normal part of how the web works.
5Third-Party Services
The Site relies on the following providers. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:
- Vercel — hosts the website and processes standard server logs. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics 4 — usage measurement (consent-based). See Google’s Privacy Policy. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Google AdSense — advertising (consent-based). Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits. Manage your preferences at Google Ads Settings, and learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- jsPDF (CDN) — the PDF library is loaded from public content delivery networks (cdnjs / jsDelivr / unpkg). These CDNs may log the request (e.g. IP address) to deliver the file.
You can opt out of personalized advertising from many vendors at aboutads.info/choices (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).
6Legal Bases (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, our legal bases for processing are:
- Consent — for analytics and advertising cookies (you may withdraw it at any time).
- Legitimate interests — for basic server logs needed to deliver the Site securely and reliably.
7Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live (e.g. under the GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal data held about you;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Withdraw consent for cookies at any time;
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — note that we do not sell your personal information;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because we don’t maintain accounts or directly identify visitors, most data is controlled through the third-party tools above — the opt-out links in Section 5 are the most direct way to exercise these choices. You can also contact us (Section 13).
8International Data Transfers
Our providers (Vercel, Google) are global and may process data on servers located in the United States and other countries. These companies rely on recognized safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, for international transfers.
9Data Retention
We do not store personal data ourselves. Aggregated analytics data is retained by Google according to your Google Analytics settings and Google’s own retention policies. Server logs held by our host and CDNs are kept for limited periods per their respective policies.
10Children’s Privacy
This tool is suitable for all ages and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Analytics and advertising cookies are used only with consent, as described above.
11Do Not Track
Because analytics and ads are disabled by default until you actively consent, the Site already respects a privacy-first stance. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals separately, as no tracking occurs without your consent.
12Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised “Last updated” date at the top of the page.
